We are looking for an experienced System Engineer to join our cross-functional team to work on technology development, from initial concepts up to prototypes demonstrated in flight.
You will take responsibility for the major R&D projects working on air sub-systems of sustainable aircrafts powered by Hydrogen Fuel Cell, Hydrogen Gas Turbines or Hybrid Systems. You are expected to define of system architecture, trade-off analyses, system modelling and simulations, and performance assessment for integrated air circuits, air compression / turbo-compressors, intercooler integration, backpressure control, compressor integration and bypass, flow distribution, etc.
System architecture definition for air/gas compression and distribution
Provide expertise in a mechanical area, rotor-dynamic and housing design, turbo-compressor CFD
Provide integration of air components and sub-systems, flow and pressure control, cooling
Close collaboration with subject matter experts on architecture definition, systems, and component engineering, providing system level guidance, defining the trade-off studies and participation on system modelling and analyses
Definition and planning of system development, leading design reviews
Close collaboration with project manager and his/her support
Performing functional hazard assessment, system safety assessment, common cause analyses.
Supervising preparation of Validation and Verification plans.
Participation on preparation of system test procedures and acceptance test procedures.
Preparing tasks for colleagues and integrate their results into your system development.
M.Sc. or Ph.D. in relevant engineering domain
6+ years of mechanical/rotor-dynamic or multidisciplinary engineering experience.
Experience with system integration into the higher-level assemblies.
Knowledge of modelling, simulation, and design tools (MATLAB Simulink, flow simulations, ANSYS)
Good English & communication skills.
Due to Export Controls restrictions EU nationality required
Experience with design of aircraft propulsion systems
