We have an opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Honeywell Aerospace team in Brno. Use your advanced knowledge of engineering discipline, processes and tools in order to develop applications running in defined project tasks regarding applications that are essential for pilots during flight. You will develop and define engineering processes in the Display&Graphics COE.

Join our team and become recognized as an engineering authority within the COE and a mentor to junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Planning and executing project subtasks in order to meet customer specifications
• Development, verification, and certification of real-time embedded aviation software for Cockpit Display System in Display & Graphics team.
• Development of prototypes for research projects and their transfer to product development.
• Design, implementation, testing and documentation of the software in accordance with DO-178B guidelines.
• Assists in the completion of products to achieve certification and customer acceptance.
• Providing direction to colleagues to ensure project and product compliance.
• Conducting project status and process presentations for leadership and external customers.
• Communicates any non-compliance and the results of any internal project audits to pertinent parties.
• Establishes and applies a methodology to new concepts and recommends enhancements to advance projects and processes.
• Identifies and proposes technical improvements using engineering knowledge and principals

Key requirements

• University degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of working experience in C and/or C++
• Advanced command of English language
• Experience with RTOS (DEOS as a preference) and configuration management system such as Git, PVCS

We value

• Experience working with OpenGL
• Knowledge of aerospace standards DO 178B/C
• Willingness to travel (Phoenix, AZ, Bangalore, India; France, Italy Switzerland – customers)
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Pearl)
