Lead Electronic Design Engineer – Flight Control Actuation

We have an opportunity for a Lead Electronic Design Engineer to join a team developing control units for Electro-Mechanical Flight Control Actuation systems. You will become part of a team delivering safety critical and complex products for various types of Urban Air Mobility aircraft platforms that are shaping the future of the aerospace industry.

In Honeywell Brno, we have been building centre of excellence in Flight control Actuation Systems constituting a huge opportunity to participate in technology edge development projects enabling career growth.

You will encompass the complete product design and development life cycle including, electronic control unit HW concept development, design, build, verification. You will cooperate closely with both local project and technical leadership and US team taking care of the system integration and interface to the customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Cooperate closely with the project leadership and all other functional groups (System, Mechanical, Software, Test Services, Safety Eng) involved in the development and manufacture of electrical control unit
• Lead Electronic HW team developing control units for Electro-Mechanical Flight Control Actuation Systems
• Ensure on-time delivery of electronic HW deliverables per the project plan
• Plan delivery of the electronic HW work packages, allocate tasks to the team and lead their execution
• Report design status to the project leadership, stakeholders and external customers
• Participate in the projects planning, creating the estimates
• Design Controller HW Architecture
• Participate in the creation of HW requirements specification
• Support HW Certification
• Mentor / coach junior designers
• Actively identify new technological opportunities that will help reduce the weight of our products
• Maintenance of Printed Board Assembly life cycle together with probable improvements

Required skills

• Solid engineering background in Electronics, be familiar with the whole development lifecycle of the products containing the electronic HW (PBAs) – at least 5 years experience
• Experience with leading the electronic HW team
• Ability to make decisions while fully taking responsibility for the associated risks
• Strong organizational skills and analytical ability, self – starter, motivated to take initiative and able to work independently
• Excellent command of English language; Excellent communications skills
