You will contribute to the development of Honeywell's next generation automated material handling by designing, testing, and validating products/processes from prototype to market. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs while acting as a mentor to more junior engineers. You will interact with internal and external customers in order to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications.
A challenging engineering position within the PLC Product Development Team. This role will design and develop PLC and associated software for automated material handling systems
Responsible for evaluating, testing, and documenting hardware against specific performance criteria
Planning, developing, and testing software modules to support equipment and process specifications
Evaluating and implementing innovations and technological advances that improve quality, reduce project execution time, improve productivity, and enhance system performance
Ability to take a broad approach to software development with foresight for scalability, maintainability, and usability
Based on research, applies, develops, and recommends innovative methodologies and technologies which are equal to the industry's state of the art to resolve process and design problems
Interacts with internal and external customers and/or suppliers to resolve moderate to complex design, development, production, and acceptance issues
Ability to provide written and oral presentations of relevant subject matter and provide written documentation of software projects
B.S. degree and 1-3 years of experience as a controls engineer
Knowledge and experience with Electrical Controls Engineering in an Industrial Automation environment
Understanding of electro-mechanical systems, sensors, drives, encoders, etc.
PLC programming experience using Rockwell and/or Siemens PLCs
Documentation using Microsoft Office
Ability to travel 10%

User Interface experience: (PanelView Plus, Ignition, PC-Based)
High-level software experience a plus (C#, C++, python)
Understanding of code development methodologies (waterfall, agile, etc.)
Industrial fieldbus networking knowledge, Profinet, Profibus, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, etc.
Familiar with industrial standards (NFPA 79, UL 508, PLC Safety etc.)
