Honeywell is a leading provider of innovative hearing protection and voice communication solutions. We are looking for a senior DSP engineer with proven experience to work on a variety of in-the-ear and over-the-ear auditory protection and communication devices. You will be working with audio signal processing in a global team (although in a small team environment) with great emphasis on delivering quality products and solutions to our customers worldwide.
You'll be using all the latest technologies in our projects, with a lot of room for innovations, this is a position where you can be creative.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES – IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
You will contribute to design for BT based hearing protection devices.
You will design and implement modelling frameworks for MCU/SOC based hearing protection devices.
Rapidly prototype BT BLE/Classic according to Child project requirement and new Bluetooth chip selected from program.
You'll implement and test BT performance, code.
You're going to develop Bluetooth firmware, MCU FW, DSP code for use in products and internal research projects, and you will support new product development through its whole lifecycle (concept, design, testing, implementation, sustaining).
Perform tests and measurements for algorithm validation, evaluate prototypes, and implementation benchmarking.
You will document software architecture designs, APIs, algorithms, and experimental study results.
Co-operate with colleagues in the local team as well as with teams in other locations in Europe, Asia and USA, making this a global affair.
What qualifications are we looking for?
Proven knowledge in high level programming languages including C. Knowledge of C# is an advantage.
Experience in assembly programming.
You will have good knowledge of methods and algorithms used in signal processing, such as filtering (including adaptive filtering), sample rate conversion, dynamic range compression, noise reduction, beam-forming, and/or sound classification.
Having experience with Matlab or Python is also an advantage.
The use of equipment for audio product development (such as ear simulators, measurement microphones, and audio analyzers) is a positive.
Experience using equipment for Bluetooth product development.
Knowledge of acoustics and psychoacoustics is a plus.
Education and experience:
Master’s degree in a field related to signal processing.
Five years of related experience would be great. We are happy to see anyone with less years but the right capabilities.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good command of spoken and written English is required.
Ability to work with a team in a highly cooperative environment.
