Currently we have an opening for a scientist position to work within the Sensors team in Honeywell Advanced Technology Europe.
The area of research and development is the design of MEMS inertial sensors. The inertial MEMS sensor under design is a complex electromechanical system of which performance is heavily influenced by multiple effects such as thermal, vibrations and shock effects and manufacturing imperfections.
In depth description
In your role as the scientist you will understand the device principle, design, analyze and match the dynamic model with measured characteristics and propose and design the most suitable methods to improve sensor performance. The inseparable part of the work is to take part in experimental validation of the proposed improvements.
In addition, you will participate in the development of new concepts and technologies for future space and aerospace products. This will include understanding the customer requirements, translating those into device and product requirements, performing trade studies, writing research and development proposals and potentially project and team management.
Currently there are multiple projects in the area of MEMS sensor design under execution. The main customers are: European Space Agency, Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, Honeywell International s.r.o., Airbus, Dassault aviation, etc.
Education & Training you need
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/ Mechatronics engineering
Which Areas of Expertise do we desire?
You have an understanding of the physics of MEMS inertial sensors and measurement units
Capability of planning, and execution of the development and testing of inertial measurement units.
We value experience with sensors and sensor test techniques, writing test plans, interpretation of sensors tests results, including numerical analysis is a plus.
Special skills (e.g. language, computer literacy etc...) we value?

You have MATLAB/Simulink experience
