Honeywell offers an opportunity for a talented engineer to join Advance Technology organization in Brno, Czech Republic and work on exciting development of Space technologies. The Advanced Technology organization is responsible for the inception, development, and transition of new technologies into existing or future Honeywell Aerospace product lines, and assisting in the development of new markets, products, or services. The European Advanced Technology team consists of more than 170 employees, most of which are highly skilled professionals working on exciting novel aeronautical and space technologies.

We are looking for an experienced Mechatronics or System Engineer to join the growing Space group. As a member of cross-functional team, you will work on early stage of technology development, from initial concepts up to prototypes demonstrated in the relevant environment. Your role assume execution the system engineering tasks of various projects from the field of electro-mechanical systems for space applications. Part of your role will be planning and coordinating such activities involving other experts, such as mechanical engineers, control and test engineers. You are expected to contribute to system architecture definitions, trade-off analyses, system modelling and simulations, and performance assessment.


  • System architecture definition for complex space systems using trade-off studies and simulations
  • Requirement management, including capturing customer requirements, definition of system requirements, maintaining the traceability between different objects of the design, requirement analysis and validation
  • Close collaboration with subject matter experts on architecture definition, systems and component engineering, providing system level guidance on complex electro-mechanical systems, defining the trade-off studies and participation on system modelling and analyses
  • Definition and planning of system engineering tasks in cooperation with local experts (system safety engineers, control engineers, test engineers)
  • Customer interaction and project engineering activities in close collaboration with project manager
  • Performing functional hazard assessment, system safety assessment, common cause analyses
  • Supervising preparation of Validation and Verification plans
  • Participation on preparation of system test procedures and acceptance test procedures

You must have:

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

8+ years of multidisciplinary experience e.g. combinations of mechanics, electronics, robotics, controls or system engineering experience

  • Ideally experience with Space applications
  • Good command of English
  • Knowledge of aerospace standards and guidelines is highly advantageous
