The Data Privacy Business Analyst is part of a team that operates a global data protection program. Specifically, the team will analyze and define, and process requirements to support data protection requirements including, but not limited to; data loss prevention, data discovery, data classification, data access and other requirements such as Client Consent.
The Data Privacy Business Systems Analyst is responsible for managing the elicitation, collection, analysis, documentation, and communication of business end users’ requirements. The goal of the Data Privacy Business Analyst is to help drive our businesses towards optimal technical solutions, while supporting one or more IT Projects with moderate complexity.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assesses customer needs on IT projects utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to assist in identifying business priorities and advise on options
  • Develops, writes and communicates business requirements to the IT community for the design and implementation of business solutions. Ensures tractability of requirements throughout projects lifecycle including Statement of Work (SOWs) with suppliers
  • Participates in ad-hoc consulting with one or more subject matter experts and leverages technical knowledge and experience to improve one or more business processes within an organization, generally involving the use and improvement of information systems
  • Occasionally leads IT projects
  • Develops functional specifications for integrating/adopting regional (US) and EU (GDPR) requirements into enterprise target state, architecture or specific application
  • Works with technology partners to develop technical specifications
  • Supports data protection processes, tools and service providers
  • Optimizes the end-to-end use of data protection tools
  • Champions data protection and expands the organization’s awareness of policies and practices
  • Collaborates with business groups to identify, classify, and secure high value data
  • Produces metrics to demonstrate the benefits of the data protection program
  • Establishes working relationships with multiple stakeholders via process improvement discussions, status reporting
  • Helps to identify opportunities for customers to improve utilization of existing information technology assets

You must have:

  • Prior IT Business Analyst experience
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • 2+ years of experience in data privacy / data protection / information security role
